The Programme’s continuing Mission is to provide language learning courses to members in order to provide them with the vocabulary and phrases required in everyday situations, to facilitate integration into the local community and to improve the chances of successful career advancement. Our Ukrainian friends are faced not only with learning a new language but also culture shock and profound insecurity. We offer a stress-free, warm, welcoming place of learning which provides hope and confidence in life as well as language skills to allow successful communication within the wider local community.
Language learning helps our Ukrainian friends to connect and share their personal tragedies and experiences, which in turn strengthens the bonds between us and leads to greater confidence on their part. We have a dedicated team of volunteer teachers who frequently go far beyond the role of that expected from “regular” teachers. We are committed to improving, and unifying the curricula provided and developing our resource materials with the aim of meeting the specific needs of our members. Whether it is learning French or English in Switzerland, we aim to make a difference!
